So, RC1 on Windows only worked if you were in a special ‘-console’ mode, but we’ve fixed that. Sorry for the trouble.

If this RC2 works well, we may release at the beginning of the week. Give it a shot, will ya?

Democracy RC2

Yahoo has launched a very cool tool for building online applications to work with feeds: Pipes.

A couple folks have suggested that we make a Pipe that aggregates video feeds for Democracy Player. Anyone want to take a crack at this? I wonder if we could get the Pipe to output a 1-Click subscribe button.

NewTeeVee has a great how-to today on mashing together a bunch of video feeds to create 1 big Democracy-Player compatible feed: How To: Create Your Own ‘Channel’.

We are getting closer and closer to a release of 0.9.5. Please try out our RC1 version and let us know if you see *anything* wrong!

Note to mac users: there’s been a mac bug for a long time that causes a small number of mac users to have an error on startup. We think it’s a problem with the database package that we use and we’re planning to switch to a new system. However, there’s a small chance that it’s a problem on our end and we’ve added some code that will give us more information. If you’re getting this error on your mac, please try this version and send us any error that pops-up. Thanks!
