For those of you who haven’t seen Sita Sings the Blues yet, the film combines a modern breakup story with a fantastic musical retelling of the Ramayana, the ancient Hindu text. My favorite moments involved three shadow puppets, voiced by modern Indians, who retell the story based on their sometimes shaky memories of it. Watch Sita Sings the Blues, here.
